Horses

There are 4 horses available from the Boring Springs Horsery:

Normal Horse: No effect.
Pale Horse: Additional random undead and Nex-Mex books encounters.
Dark Horse: Option to run from most random encounters. Disabled in hard mode. (Reason being scared of the hard hat's appearance.)
Crazy Horse: More likely to trigger random event (and locate locations faster).

In Dirtwater you can have some interaction with your horse
- Once a day you can comb it.
- You may also feed it apples, carrots, and even peanut butter.
Being sufficiently kind to your horse will grant you the Friend of Horses perk.
You are only able to aquire the seventh of the Nex-Mex Books with the pale horse through a random encounter.
The Pale and Dark horses are female, the Normal and Crazy horses are male (this only affects pronoun choices).
- Default names also depend on the horse gender, and the game environment:
  - The male horses default to "Tim", except on the Switch where they default to "Yoshi".
  - The female horses default to "Tina", except on the Switch where they default to "Epona".
The Crazy Horse will start speaking gibberish after feeding it peanut butter, including the intro to the song "All Star" by Smash Mouth.
